About Me

But God doesn’t call us to be comfortable. He calls us to trust Him so completely that we are unafraid to put ourselves in situations where we will be in trouble if He doesn’t come through.”
― Francis Chan, Crazy Love

Book: after the Bible, I have too many favorites to choose from! I’m a real nerd. Currently reading Francis Chan’s Crazy Love for the third time.

Song: Ice Ice Baby by the one and only Vanilla Ice!!! I am sort of kidding. I really like any song I can sing along to. Not that I can sing, I just enjoy it. Windows down, music loud…YES!!

Movie: hmmm, I find myself torn between saying “Dirty Dancing” “Beauty and the Beast,” or “Beaches.”  None of those are even alike.  Ha!

Band: Sister Hazel.

On our first airplane ride together. He had no clue what he was getting himself into.

Schooling: CHECK!! I graduated with my Master’s degree in 2012. I am a Master at teaching kids with autism…or so the paper says.

BF: not sure what this stands for…best friend?  My husband, of course.  I have had so many best friends during different seasons of my life. I am truly thankful for each person that I have come in contact with. When traveling, one of my main goals was to leave with a best friend in each country. That’s about 60 best friends.

Political ideology: I am conservative…that is all I will say. I’d love to live in a land that is truly free.

A government strong enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take away everything you have. – Thomas Jefferson

Religion: I take up space in a pew (well…chair) every Sunday and I wholeheartedly try to love God and love others the rest of the week. I hope my priorities, actions and thoughts bring God glory on a daily basis.

Tattoos: None.

Piercings: Ears. BORING!

Languages: Pretty decent English. I also know a few phrases in A LOT of different languages. A girl has to be able to get to the bathroom and find french fries when traveling.

Reason behind your blog’s name: On a sunny day in May, I was born and named…Kim. On a sunny day in November, I was married…Hoover!! The .org part just sounded fancy!

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, compassion, some humor, and some style.” –Maya Angelou

Why you blog: 1.) I have been told too many times that I need to write a book about my life experiences. 2.) So I have documentation of all I have seen and done. 3.) I hope to inspire and encourage others to step out of their comfort zones and live a life that needs documenting. 4.) To give me something to do while Dan watches football.
